Jim Elliott is the ultimate decision-maker of the James G. Elliott Co., Inc. He oversees the overall strategic direction of the company and financial and operational plans. He is the public face of the company.

Before he founded the company in 1984, Mr. Elliott held numerous executive positions, including Director of Field Services at CBS Magazines and Western Advertising Manager for Road & Track Magazine. Mr. Elliott served as the president of the Magazine Representatives Association of Southern California and board member of Association Media & Publishing (AM&P), which bestowed upon him the First Annual Mitch Mohanna Lifetime Achievement Award, awarded for outstanding service to AM&P and for accomplishments spanning a career in association publishing. He has served on several for-profit and nonprofit boards and committees and as Charter Advisory Board Member of the Magazine Innovation Center at The University of Mississippi’s Meek School of Journalism and New Media. Jim currently serves on the CEO Council of the SIIA’s AM&P Network. He has contributed to publications such as The Media Leader and Signature, and speaks at industry events such as the 2024 SIIA Business Information Media Summit (BIMS) and international events like the 2023 Indian Magazine Congress (New Delhi) and the FIPP World Congress (Lisbon). His consulting and business turnaround expertise were highlighted in a recent Forbes.com article. A graduate of Occidental College, Jim resides in the Los Angeles area. He is a member of the Chicago Club and the Del Rey Yacht Club.

Ryan Elliott runs the day-to-day activities of the Elliott Co. He advises on and approves all business goals, operations, and expenses. He guides and approves organizational structure/staffing as well as helping to drive new business with his father.

Mr. Elliott started his career in advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi as an account executive in the automotive space. After he completed his MBA, he was recruited into the finance industry and spent the next few years managing risk for a large bank based out of LA and SF. He then used his interpersonal skills along with his finance background and transitioned into consulting, working for KPMG and Ernst & Young (EY). During his service between the two firms, he traveled around the country selling large projects to corporate clients and co-managed the financial services practice for EY on the West Coast.

Mr. Elliott’s experience includes selling professional services to corporations, managing consulting teams and complicated initiatives, helping executives interpret and navigate complicated rules and regulatory frameworks, assessing financial/non-financial risk, what-if modeling and analysis, financial planning and analysis, valuation, and M&A.

As the Chicago Manager, Mike Runkle leads daily operations for the Chicago office and assists with JGECO new business proposals and strategy. He also sells digital & print advertising / lead generation programs for a number of clients.

Mr. Runkle joined the Elliott Company in 2018 after having invested 20 years working for major publishers such as Gannett, RH Donnelley and Travelzoo — as well as niche publishers across many verticals. He earned a bachelor's degree in Opera and an MBA in Global Management.

Craig Miller is responsible for external communications and new business presentations; he also provides syndicated research services for the sales team and works on consulting projects for the Ads&IDEAS® Division. During his 25-year tenure with JGECO, he has been responsible for sales assignments ranging from Kantar Media's SRDS to Simmons Market Research Bureau and advertising sales for The American Legion. Previously, he managed sales offices for Inc. Magazine, Forbes, and Investor’s Business Daily.

Victor Avalos is the Director of Information Services at the JGECO; he is responsible for the maintenance, support, development, design and procurement of all systems and solutions. Mr. Avalos has spent 15 years in various management and technical positions at a number of companies including Kravitz & Associates and Security First Group, a MetLife Company.
